8. The British Class System Angers Him

As an actor in the limelight who is surprisingly successful at concealing his private life and hates talking about it, Fiennes also resists any attempts at being herded into a box based on his rich background. With many successful actors including Eddie Redmayne and Dame Helen Mirren finding fame through being able to afford what's been seen as more beneficial drama training, Fiennes rebels this idea that upper class actors find fame easier than those from poorer backgrounds. In fact, he described the whole thing as 'bollocky'. He told The Telegraph: "All it is, is f***ing England€™s obsession with class, and it€™s so depressing. And it€™s a media construct to run stupid articles about class this, posh actors that. It€™s so retarded to me, the discussion. It€™s not true. There are parts for everyone. Good actors get work.
