10. There Are Two Parks
Universal Orlando Resort is made up of two separate theme parks, both with strikingly different personalities.
Universal Studios Florida takes park goers on a journey into the movies. When the park opened in 1990 it was a real working studio and stil today it houses 6 working sound stages. Universal Studios is designed to look like a fully dressed backstage, where guests can wander through the streets of New York, San Fransisco, London and Hollywood. You can even venture into the home of the Simpsons, as well as the beautifully immersive Diagon Alley.
Islands of Adventure beckons guests to live the adventure. In this park you can travel through mysterious lost continents, a wizarding world, the home of dinosaurs and a land where superheroes roam the streets.
Both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure are connected by Universal CityWalk, Universal's entertainment district. CityWalk is the home of an AMC IMAX Cineplex, restaurants, shops, mini golf and of course the famous Blue Man Group.
You can choose to buy single park tickets starting at $105 or you can get park-to-park tickets for $155. Park-to-park tickets allow you to spend your day between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
Keep in mind that if you want take the Hogwarts Express between Kings Cross Station and Hogsmede you will need to make sure that you have park-to-park tickets.
