10 Times Ross Noble Mangled Our Minds

2. When He Taught Us Not To Be Prejudiced

To give this clip some context, it comes from his Fizzy Logic tour from 2007, with terrorist attacks in the news and the 7/7 bombings fresh in everyone€™s memory. Islam was an even more sensitive subject back then than it is today. The few comedians who were broaching the topic were €œshockers€ like Frankie Boyle, whose material was deliberately antagonistic. Ross reminded us that comedy is about being silly, having fun, and having a laugh. The clip ends with Ross dancing on stage singing €œCheeky Muslim€ to the tune of €œChitty Chitty Bang Bang€. It's inoffensive, silly, inclusive, and hilarious. It€™s a minor act, but it showed up the silliness of fearing to talk about certain things on stage, and reminded us to stop taking everything quite so seriously at a time when things seemed very serious indeed.
