10 Types Of People You Will Meet In Fresher's Week

4. The Citizen-Of-The-World Gap Year Person

You€™ll certainly meet people who decided to take a gap year. They either travelled or worked, and while it certainly does look good on your CV, it can turn you into a pretentious and intolerable person. Dreadlocks do not make you a wiser person, neither does hideous facial hair. Having visited one little village in Bolivia/Kenya/Argentina does not mean they know the local struggles and local issues. It means they have the money to go there, nothing else. Spiritualism and veganism have a place in the world, but there is no need for these people to bombard everyone in the immediate vicinity with their opinions. These often sanctimonious people are perhaps the most intolerable of people that you will meet. They will act superior to all of us uncivilised western citizens, despite being bankrolled by the very system they claim to hate. They represent the other side of the private schooled elitists. By claiming to have experienced the world on their travels they see themselves as better than everyone else, but they do not contribute valuably to the communities that they have visited.
