12 Pieces Of Sci-Fi Tech That We Wish Were Real

12. Teleportation

There was a lot of debate in the office as to how exactly a teleport would work and whether being vaporised in one location and rebuilt in another would have a damaging psychological effect on one's sense of self.

Then we decided that we didn't care because it would be so flipping convenient that we'd probably just suck it up.

The super exciting thing about teleportation is that there isn't necessarily any law in physics that forbids it, so it's technically possible. In fact, scientists have already managed to teleport data a distance of almost 90 miles using quantum teleportation.

If we could scale this technology up to human size then it would revolutionise transportation. The knock on effects would be massive, from the collapse of the motor industry to the repurposing of roads and even the massive reduction in air pollution that could help halt or even reverse climate change.

Plus, you know, nipping to the Bahamas for a Pina Colada and being back in time for tea. That's pretty cool too.
