10. Crushes Hand In Car Accident, Arrested For Drunk Driving (July 2008)
Just a few months after being cited for unlawfully smoking in California, LaBeouf was involved a car crash, and to be fair to him, the accident was caused by a driver running a red light. The actor's car flipped, and his hand was crushed in the incident, resulting in a number of operations and a slight alteration of the plot of the second Transformers movie, Revenge of the Fallen, in order to explain the injury. So far, so sympathetic, right? When the cops arrived at the scene, LaBeouf refused a brethalyzer, so was hauled in for misdemeanor drunk driving, and his license was suspended for a year, even though the DUI charge was eventually dropped due to lack of evidence. As classy a guy as Shia couldn't quite leave it there, though. He later claimed that he and his passenger, actress Isabel Lucas (who appears in the movie) had been "philandering around" prior to the accident's occurrence. Perhaps that mangled hand was a little karmic justice?
