14 Dating Tips For Your Cripplingly Awkward Best Friend

It's not you... it's her.

It might seem a cliche, but it's only an all too inconvenient truth that girls gather together to expertly analyse what went wrong in a relationship or with a date while watching He's Just Not That In To You in the hope that we are all the exception to the rule. Well fellow Gigis, everyone should start acting like the exception, because we are and we all deserve to spend our money on a special someone instead of just emptying local bakeries of cakes again. For some this comes easier than for others. Let's face it, everyone has that one friend who has already claimed the Cat Lady of the group title despite being the tender age of just twenty two. Despite her going on a few dates wearing her expensive foundation that you insisted she buy, the new dress that you picked out of her and even having a wash and doing... something... with her hair, the date usually ends in disaster because she's talked about how mermaids could definitely exist and how passionate she is about how butterflies used to be caterpillars. The banter between you and your best friend is sometimes too much, with both of you questioning why you don't have your own TV show. However, this level of quirky humour, wit and charm is sometimes a bit too much for someone you've just met - which is always a little baffling - and while you recognise the indicators that behaviour has to be modified, your socially awkward friend remains delightfully clueless, and needs a helping hand. Lest she continue uncomfortably hurtling forwards on the long slow train journey to a little town called Forever Alone.
