What does Minneapolis want to be? It's aware that its no LA, no NYC, no Chicago, and that it wont ever get there. Does it see itself as humble and soft-spoken by comparison? Well, it does get a kick out of calling itself just a really big small town," so... And that isnt much of a stretch when your population is smaller than Omaha, Nebraska. Maybe elsewhere in the citys heart, an area bruised by jokes about weather and bland Scandinavians, Minneapolis wants to embrace its national and global standing. Second-largest economic centre in the Midwest, don't you know? Americas fifth-highest concentration of Fortune 500 companies! But really, Minneapolis reminds itself, these just further cement its status as runner-up in every arena. And thats okay. Because the people who live here? We got problems; just like any other citys people got problems. And where there are problems, where there is conflict, there is drama. These things matter to us. So yeah, on a universal human level, were as interesting as any middling big American city. Maybe this is getting a bit theatrical, but that would make sense, given that we have THE MOST live theatre seats per capita in the country. Well, except for New York. Lets hear about these problems.
