9. Good News! You Don't Have To Stay Late! Wait A Minute...
Uh, Thursdays! Every friday, reports go on the boss' desk and so everyone has to stay late on a thursday night to make sure it's all ready and waiting come friday morning. Except, it's thursday lunchtime now and your boss just told you to make sure you get off on time today? He doesn't want you wasting your evening around here, go home, see your wife for once. It's all very jolly, and you're glad to be walking out of the door when the buzzer goes, while all those other schmucks are still sat at their desks filling out sales figures. It isn't until you're halfway home that the thought occurs. You've worked here for five years, and you've had to stay late every thursday. Why are you getting this Thursday evening off but no other before? Of course the answer is because they want you to feel comfortable in your job before you lose it. There's no point stressing out and giving responsibility to an employee who won't be here soon, is there?
