As a child during the month of December, this is how youd refer to time passing. Everything was all about sleeps. There are fifteen sleeps until Santa arrives; there are nine sleeps until unbridled festive chaos. And after the day itself, there are 365 sleeps until Christmas. This is just the way your mind worked as a kid and it made Christmas all the more exciting. Unfortunately, and somewhat alarmingly, this reference to the passing of the days leading up to Christmas seems to have endured for a small, troubled part of the general population. In order to pitifully retain that childlike exuberance, some fully formed adults who pay taxes, drive, occasionally vote still refer to the month of December in this way. Its chilling and deeply disturbing, and it should be noted here that any adult who does this should be sent to a work camp for the duration of the festive period.
