Why is it problem? There are loads of awesome planes in the sky doing fantastical displays and it serves as a great weekend out. But, for locals, it's the weekend to dread. The audience that attended at the second festival in 2009 was approximately 1.3 million people. That's a lot of people for Bournemouth to handle. There's already been a busy summer and then all of a sudden for one weekend in August, people from all over the country descend on the town. For locals, it becomes a game of spot the parking space or find somewhere for lunch that isn't filled to the rafters. And it all happens in 3 days. 3, excruciating days.
