So you know how normally when you arrive at a hotel, you check in at the front desk, they give you kind of confusing directions to the elevator, and then you somehow manage to find your room? And it's all just really rather pedestrian? Jules' Undersea Lodge (named for the famous writer Jules Verne) brings the excitement back into hotel arrivals, because when you show up there, you have to scuba dive down 21 feet under the ocean surface just to get to your room. Located in Key Largo, Florida, this hotel was originally La Chalupa Research Laboratory in the 1970s, but has been converted into a living space and scuba school, and is currently the only underwater hotel in the United States.
