Tattoos have rapidly grown into a huge part of mainstream culture in the past decade: what once sunk the skin of a minority of people can now be seen on the bodies of many a celebrity. But what about the ones we wouldn't expect to see them on? Seattle-based visual artist Cheyenne Randall creates a parallel universe in which our most recognisable and admired icons don full sleeves, face tattoos and amusingly imaginative knuckle markings. What's interesting is the backlash the PhotoShop wizard has received from such work. Internet commentators have described it as 'disgusting', 'disrespectful', and 'sacrilegious'. Why? It's just the same as creating a painting of someone like Frida Kahlo or Audrey Hepburn: it's all art. What's more, they look awesome. Here's visual confirmation that most people look better with tattoos.
20. Brigitte Bardot
And God Created Woman... With Tattoos. The 60s sex symbol looks super cute with an adornment of old school roses: much better than Cheryl Cole's butt.
19. Prince William And Kate Middleton
Maybe a tad cringey seeing the Royal couple this way, but it's all fun. Kate looks pretty damn cool with sleeves and purple hair, and is that an Illuminati symbol we spy on Will's palm?
