8. After Suffering From Neurosyphilis, Capone Was Deemed To Have The Mental Capacity Of A 12-Year-Old

In 1932, Capone was diagnosed with neurosyphilis and gonorrhoea - the first of which led to a rapid decline in his mental capabilities - which he contracted while worked as a bouncer at a brothel 12 years previously. With his cognitive functions continuing to deteriorate, Capone's physician and also his psychiatrist at the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore concluded that Capone now had the mental capabilities of a 12-year-old.
