1. He Had A Cancerous Lesion Removed From His Back Five Days Before Leaving Office
Bill Clinton's eight-year spell as President of the United States officially ended on January 20, 2001 - but just five days previously he was taken into hospital to have a cancerous lesion removed from his back. The damaged skin was removed - and then doctors confirmed that the cancer had not spread. However, in the years since leaving office Clinton has undergone a four-hour heart bypass operation after more than 90% of his arteries were blocked, and has also been rushed into hospital with "chest discomfort", leading to two stents being placed in his veins.
