2. Blue Whales Are Smaller Than The Longest Dinosaurs
Although dinosaurs are often portrayed as being gigantic - and many were - none were bigger the the Diplodocus. Blue whales measures 33metres in length, but the Diplodocus - meaning "double beam" - could reach 53.3metres long. At 15.25metres long, the Liopleurodon (or "smooth-sided teeth") was the biggest ancient aquatic reptile - but that was less than half the size of a modern-day blue whale.
