7. The Canadian Government Named Their (At The Time) Highest Unclimbed Mountain After JFK... And His Brother Robert Reached The Summit First

Following JFK's assassination, the Canadian government honoured his memory by naming the-then highest unclimbed peak in North America after him. The peak in the Saint Elias Mountains in Yukon became known as "Mount Kennedy". In a poignant moment, JFK's brother Robert Kennedy was among the first group to complete the ascent in 1965. After reaching the summit, Robert Kennedy left a copy of JFK's Inaugural Presidential Address, a John F. Kennedy medallion and some of his brother's PT-boat tie clips.
