People who live in Sheffield are, true to the stereotype, unfailingly more friendly than the lower half of England. They're polite, helpful, and will chat to basically anyone. Their enthusiasm for their fellow South Yorkshire residents isn't quite matched by the level of enthusiasm afforded by their vocabulary, however. If you suffer from low self-esteem, living in Sheffield isn't going to help all that much. To a person from Sheffield, nothing is ever better than alright. Which isn't to suggest they're gloomy alright is the Sheffield equivalent of amazing, brilliant, or any other more hyperbolic statement. A beautiful sunset is alright. Scientific breakthroughs are alright. Winning the lottery? Yeah, that'd be alright, wouldn't it?
