16. Having To Head To The Common The Second You See Blue Sky
We're blessed with a massive stretch of parkland in the centre of the city proper, only about ten minutes walk from both the University Of Southampton and the main shopping thoroughfares. The Common is a huge, vital part of Southampton's civic culture, and naturally marked the scene of many summer escapades as teenagers, usually involving a little too much cider. That means that between April and September, the moment the sun peeks out on a weekend or a bank holiday, you'll get three texts and a dozen Facebook statuses excitedly talking about 'heading down the Common'.
