You€™ve dragged Barry, Gary or Carrie out into the corridor for a ruddy good telling off. This is the moment the student becomes the teacher. €˜Why did you swear?€™ (avoid saying name). €˜I didn€™t.€™ Then there is silence. Aren€™t they supposed to cower in the face of authority? Aren€™t they supposed to break down in tears and admit their wrong in the face of such power? Isn€™t there supposed to be a moment of fear in their eyes? Something?! €˜And I€™m getting my parents up to complain about you.€™ There it is. That€™s the moment. You cower in the face of Barry/Gary/Carrie€™s authority. You break down in tears and admit you€™re wrong in the face of their power. The fear is clearly in your eyes. Barry/Gary/Carrie has just told you off and your place on the bottom rung of the school ladder is complete.
