Across the way in Canada lies another tasty treat served up in a hot dog bun: The fabled McLobster. Introduced in 1993, this blend of lobster, diced celery, and shredded lettuce mixed in a creamy lobster sauce with lemon has gained notoriety over the years, because "McDonald's? Lobster? Those two things don't go together... do they?" At one time, the sandwich was served all across its homeland, but unfortunately did not prove profitable enough to be kept around for the long term. However, it remains a fixture in Atlantic Canada and even New England, where lobster is abundant year-round. Fortunately, in instances when the price of lobster comes down (such as during the summer of 2013), the Golden Arches has been known to extend the reach of the product, albeit only for a limited time.
