Have you ever wanted to get an order of McDonald's pancakes (also known as "Hotcakes" in some places), some egg, cheese, and meat, but wanted to have it all put together as one single item? Then good news! McDonald's has an item like that... just not in Britain. The McGriddle is your basic meat, egg, and cheese sandwich, but replaces the bread - be it a bagel or an English muffin - and replaces it with a pair of syrup-infused bun halves made from the same batter as they use in the pancakes, complete with a Golden Arches emblem monogrammed on top. You might notice the use of the term "meat" above. As with most breakfast sandwiches, you get your choice of bacon or sausage, while some places also offer ham. In rarer instances, fried chicken, steak, and spam are more regional offerings.
