12. At Least One Person Will Be More Machine Than Man
Given the variety of biotech upgrades available by the 2070s, there could be someone walking around with more non-biological parts than biological by this time.
Artificial, fail-proof organs; bionic eyes and ears; cybernetic implants to interface with other devices; nanobots coursing through the circulatory system and perhaps artificial enhancements to intelligence or physical performance. Prosthetic limbs could be neurally controlled and indistinguishable from the real thing.
With nanotechnology further advancing into picotechnology, we could manipulate matter at an atomic level.
11. First Space Elevator Fires Up
It would probably be made up of a cable anchored to the Earth attaching to counterweight in space. This could either be a man made space station, or even a captured asteroid.
One of the major hurdles to overcome here is the development of a super-strong, super-light material that would be able to withstand the tugs and torques that it would be subjected to.
10. The Ozone Layer Recovers
Given ample opportunity, the hole in the ozone layer that is currently giving us all melanomas should have closed up by this point.
