7 "Men Of God" Who Acted As Horror Movie Villains In Real Life
7. Reverend Kills Secret Son
Catholicism forbids having children outside of marriage, and although Roman Catholic priests are allowed to get married, they can do so only before being consecrated. Christ didn't have children, so those representing Him in the church should therefore not have them either.
It's not hard to understand, then, why having a child (especially outside of wedlock) contradicts everything a reverend stands for, and is most likely career-ending. In the eyes of the law, though, having a child is not a crime - but murdering him is.
Dagoberto Valle Arriaga was a reverend from Texcoco, Mexico, who had a son with a woman he wasn't married to. He concluded that killing him would solve all problems. After kidnapping him from his mother, he murdered the boy close to a town north of Mexico City. The authorities caught up with him, and after a quick trial, sentenced him to 55 years in prison.
