3. Nostradamus: Hitler, 1555
Nostradamus, who was alive for the first half of the 16th Century, seemed to have an uncanny knack for predicting everything from the Great Fire of London to the rise of Nazi Germany.
Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in Austria, Western Europe to very poor parents. His incredible oratory skills enabled him to whip up fanatical support for a truly inhuman regime in Germany, and further afield in the Axis powers of Japan and Italy.
Nostradamus wrote:
From the depths of the West of Europe, A young child will be born of poor people, He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; His fame will increase towards the realm of the East ... Beasts ferocious with hunger will cross the rivers, The greater part of the battlefield will be against Hister.Into a cage of iron will the great one be drawn, When the child of Germany observes nothing.
Spooky.
If we put our skeptical hats on for a second, Nostradamus basically spent his entire life predicting future conflicts, reigns, and disasters. In the hundreds of years that have passed since these predictions, the chances of getting a few hits are pretty good. But still, he even called him "Hister" for crying out loud.
