8 Ways Virtual Reality Will Make Life Worth Living

3. Incredible Dental Care

Hate it or not, visiting the dentist is rarely the top of everyone's "most thrilling activities" list (yes, people have those). Not, though, if you're ready with VR for your face. Forget the drills in your grill and that pointy metal rod prodding your gums €“ in your own virtual reality you're coasting through a world of candy-filled heaven, befriending Willy Wonka as you gawp at enamel-rotting confectionary... Ouch. OK, so the headset won't stop the agony of a filling, but at least VR can make it heroic. Imagine you're Bond, refusing to divulge Her Majesty's secrets despite the ongoing oral torture, shouting "I'rr nera te ooo" at your nonplussed mouth inspector. Or you're Anakin as he becomes Vader. Dark, but more appealing than making awkward eye contact with someone who has a latex-wrapped hand in your mouth. For kids? It's the tooth fairy, of course €“ because who needs imagination when you've got animation.
