Is he alive? Is he dead? Is he playing a joke on us from beyond the grave? The cult comedian made an appearance on the BBC News website only last week amidst prolonged speculation he faked his own death. At a New York awards ceremony, the former Taxi star's daughter took to the stage alongside his brother Michael and informed the bemused audience that he was still hanging around, that he's a good dad who just looks after the house and makes them food. I'm lost as well. Members of the audience described the whole episode as "chilling". Baring in mind that this is a man who made a career of out long-winded, complex practical jokes. You'd have to fancy that he's having one last laugh at our expense. The guy died from renal failure but was a health fanatic. Some things just don't add up. He's still dead, though. Conspiracy theorists say: He's alive. That was his daughter. He'd always fantasised about getting away from it all and Center Parcs is too expensive to reside there on a permanent basis. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
