Admittedly, there's nothing like a made bed to give the illusion that you've got your sh*t together. The rest of your bedroom could be a total bombsite, but the made bed will shine out like a beacon of adulthood and make everything look at least 36% tidier.

Unfortunately, that shiny made bed is teeming with beasties.

An adult can sweat out as much as half a litre of moisture in one night, and making your bed first thing in the morning traps that warmth and moisture in it, creating the ideal environment for bacteria, dust mites and even bed bugs to thrive.

If you can't bear to leave the sheets crumpled all day, then simply letting the mattress air out for a few minutes while you brush your teeth, get some coffee or stare into the sleep-deprived abyss could massively improve matters.
