50. The Regulators

Published in 1996 as the "mirror" novel to the far superior Desperation, The Regulators was written under King's pseudonym Richard Bachman. Featuring the same cast of characters as Desperation but switching the setting from a desolate mining town to a stereotypical suburb, the book follows a neighbourhood beset by death and violence as one boy gains the ability to alter their reality.

It's scary and surprising in places, but is nowhere near as interesting as its sister tale.
