On the sixth of May, Dame Helen Mirren took a bit of time off to go and have a few four letter words with a troupe of street drummers who were making such a din that theatre goers could not hear her lines as the Queen in her play of the same name in West End's Gielgud Theatre. Not only did Dame Helen get caught out by the Twitter brigade, but her antics were caught on camera phone as well. But the spirited Dame need not feel alone, there have been other actors who have been caught out having a right go at the public. We won't mention the fuelled fits of actors who rant and curse at the fellow crew members a la Christian Bale against that poor lighting chap on the set of Terminator 4 which dominated the internet and YouTube for ages. No, we're talking about "in your face' tirades that happen in public at the public. While none of this list will have quite the visibility of the Dame who's still playing the Queen, they all deserve a mention or five.
5. Russell Crowe
What with already being classified as an all round hot-head whose ego equals the size of Mount Vesuvius, Crowe has had quite a few run ins with his "fans." He'd already come un-glued on a bunch of fellow diners in a New York eatery when he followed this up with throwing a "damaged" cell phone (mobile) at a hotel employee Nestor Estrada and actually hit him with the object. But say what you will about Mr Crowe (just be out of phone throwing distance if you do) he did own up to the incident and pleaded guilty in court when charges had been brought against him. He avoided jail time and paid a $160 dollar fine on the provision that he not get arrested for another year. Russell must have taken anger management lessons because he did manage to meet that obligations. Although he wasn't quite in control of his overwhelming ego when his accent was later questioned after his film the 2010 Robin Hood had been released. He not only got angry at a British radio presenter but left before his interview was finished. What a guy!
