This brand new attraction is Universal Studios Hollywood's first outdoor rollercoaster.

It is a family friendly ride, but is still good fun for adults. It might not have any huge drops but the ride is smooth and faster than it looks. The ride can reach speeds of 28mph, but as the track is incredibly slick, you do feel like you are flying around the coasters curves.

Those who ride Flight of the Hippogriff are treated to a walk past Hagrid's Hut and see his flying motorbike. Listen carefully for the sounds of Hagrid's loyal hoarhound Fang barking.

It's not a very long ride, and it would have been better if it could have been made a bit longer. For small children, which is who the ride is aimed at, the length would be fine.

One of the best things about Flight of the Hippogriff is the views. As you ride up the lift hill to the coaster's summit, you are treated to spectacular view of Hogwarts Castle set against the Hollywood Hills. When constructing the castle, Universal Creators decided to use the the natural mountains of Burbank to make it appear as though Hogwarts really was in the hills of Scotland.

Despite this being a kid-coaster, it is worth a ride. Even if it is just to see Hogwarts from high up.
