Right, so there€™s this thing called the Fermi Paradox.

If you€™re interested in this sort of thing than you€™ve probably heard of it. It is basically an observation by a guy called Enrico Fermi that states that the age and vast size of the universe means that the formation of life should be common and the solar system should be teeming with life, and yet the universe remains silent.

It€™s basically a clever way of saying €œWhere the aliens at?€.

The Fermi Paradox on its own is more of a question than an answer and doesn€™t attempt to solve the problems it poses. There are, however, a great number of connected theories that attempt to do just that.

Some of these support the idea that the universe should be teeming with aliens and attempt to rationalise why we haven't found them, some attempt to answer the question mathematically and some pick holes in it, arguing that the question itself is the wrong one to be asking.
