5. Dean Thomas

Strengths: Loyal, courageous, self-motivated. Weaknesses: N/A Post-Voldemort Life: Unknown but again, he wasn't listed among the casualties. Alright, from here on and out, there€™s the heavy hitters. First up is Dean Thomas, who€™s basically the most loyal backup guy that a friend could ask for. After Harry was selected as Hogwarts€™s Tri-Wizard Champion, Dean openly supported him, even when almost everyone at Hogwarts was backing Cedric Diggory. No matter what happens in the book €” from the founding of Dumbledore€™s Army, to the escape from Malfoy Manor, Dean is always in the thick of the action. He showed strong character in Deathly Hallows, when half-blood status forced him to flee, but still managed to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts and survive. Every great leader needs a solid second - a guy who€™s unfailingly loyal, trusts the leader at his word, and is a powerful, physical force to be reckoned with on his own. For Harry, Dean Thomas is that man. In early drafts of the first book, Dean was a more prominent character, which is unsurprising.
