9 Things That Sound Like Insane Hoaxes But Aren't

Sometimes, if it sounds too good to be true, it's still true.

The internet is a wonderful tool. It's effectively the hive mind of humanity. This does, however, open it up to abuse. Anyone can post anything on the internet, and people, true to form, have been trolling each other since the very first dial up tone crackled into life. We can be forgiven then, for becoming a suspicious bunch when it comes to internet "facts". Aside from your mad auntie who posts anything and everything to your Facebook wall, true or not, most people who have grown up with the internet know that it can't be trusted. Which is a shame, because there's some mind-blowingly cool stuff out there that frankly sounds just a little bit too good to be true, but true it is. Just think, thanks to internet trolls, you might never know about the fruit that tastes like chocolate or the bizarre toilet habits of wombats. This is why we can't have nice things, I guess.
