For those that know their history, the entire original purpose for the UFC coming into existence was to serve as a sort of infomercial for Gracie Jiu-jitsu. Royce was the chosen brother to compete because he looked the least dangerous. Fans and fighters alike were about to find that appearances can be very deceiving. The man who became the first UFC legend, Gracie was a bad*ss who looked less threatening than everyone else in the tournament, and most of the people in the arena. But when the fight began, the submission master put on a grappling clinic. For his entrances, Royce usually chose to forego music, heading to the cage in what became known as the "Gracie train", with the massive Gracie family walking in a line, their hands on the shoulders of the man in front of them. It was an impressive show of solidarity and would become as iconic as Royce himself.
