10 Biggest Losers From Premier League Opening Weekend

6. Timo Courtois

At no point during their 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge against Swansea did Chelsea look like the same team as last season. During the opening months of the last campaign, the London outfit were playing some incredibly entertaining football and were the envy of the league. Against their Welsh opponents at the weekend however, Chelsea looked stuffy and uncoordinated. Last year, there's an argument to be made that the Chelsea defence would have cleared the ball from danger long before Andre Ayew was given the chance to slam the ball home. Following a brief scamble, the Swansea player slid his strike into the net, but there was no firm challenge on him during his 3 attempts to do so. Sadly, there was more misery to come, and the worst offender of the day for the blue side was their goalkeeper. Bafetimbi Gomis looked threatening when he burst through the Chelsea back line on 55 minutes, and he was felled by Thibaut Courtois. The keeper was the promptly sent off, ad Gomis converted the subsequent penalty. This was not the start Courtois wanted to his season, and it'll go down as a game to forget for the Belgian.
