10 Biggest Losers From Premier League Opening Weekend

3. Arsene Wenger

Poor Arsene Wenger, just what does he have to do to make Arsenal a Premier League force again? Against West Ham, The Gunners didn't look anything like the title contenders many pundits had painted them to be. In actual fact, they looked scared and nervy, something which can't inspire confidence in the North London fan base. A 1-0 loss at home on the opening day would have been bad enough, but West Ham ran out 2-0 winners. The goals didn't come quickly either, they were in separate halves of the game. During the Community Shield against Chelsea, Arsenal looked composed and confident, so where exactly did that sweeping boldness disappear to before the opening league match? In his post-match interview, Wenger made few excuses. There was no point, it was glaringly obvious that Arsenal had failed to be smart tactically. West Ham simply soaked up the anemic, predictable build-up from their more illustrious opponents and hit them on the break. There was nowhere near enough variation in Arsenal's midfield and attack.
