10 Biggest UFC Fights Taking Place Before 2017
4. Daniel Cormier Vs Anthony Johnson
A division left to fend for itself without its prevailing overlord after a slew of offences and run-ins with the law, it falls to current Light-Heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier and Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson to lead the way.
With both men dispatching all-comers despite maintaining two very different styles, the first clash between the two was a fairly one-sided affair and was waged over Jon Jones' vacated belt. Largely defined by Cormier's wrestling and constant pressure which overwhelmed the knockout artist and eventually caused him to succumb to a rear-naked choke in Round 3, what's interesting about their rematch is whether or not 'DC' can once again buck the trend and weather the dangerous early storm which Rumble brings to the table.
Making short work of such high-level competitors as Alexander Gustafsson, Jimi Manuwa, and former #1 contender Glover Teixeira, the onslaught of blows which he throws at opponents is awe-inspiring and something which no man is immune to if he connects perfectly. If Cormier can get through this latest challenge then it's likely that it'll be the last time we see him in the Octagon before he gets his chance to avenge the only blemish on his otherwise perfect record against his currently suspended rival Jon Jones.
