Okay, this one really isn't Chael's fault, but sometimes, karma can be a bitch. After poking fun at Jon Jones using his pizzeria's menu, Sonnen wound up suing the co-owner of Mean Street Pizza, Lee Gamble, claiming Gamble embezzled funds - $20,000 worth - and owed him another $30,000 or so worth of borrowed money and unpaid rent. Worse, this went down at the same time Sonnen was preparing to face Jon Jones at long last, at UFC 159. Not a welcome distraction. Gamble launched a counter-suit, and the case was settled by December 2013, though neither side's attorney had anything to say about it. That same month, Terrence Samuel, a West Linn resident, agreed to purchase the location from Sonnen and turn it into Island Sam's, according to an article in the Portland Tribune from this past January.
