Diaz and beat it on the live-gate sales. For the first time since 2006 we would see Anderson Silva going into a fight as the non-champion, going against the man who had stunned the world with a second round KO of Anderson at UFC 162. Many believed that Andersons clowning-around in the fight had given Weidman the opening to land the right hand that sent him down to the mat and, if the Spider focused, it would be a very different fight. The event also featured a rematch between bitter rivals Ronda Rousey the womans bantamweight champion and former Strikefore-champ Miesha Tate. Tragically the 15,650 in attendance and the 1,100,000 watching via PPV were horrified when Anderson Silva suffered a stomach-churning leg break in the second round of the main event, forcing the action to come to an abrupt halt. Though Weidman still didnt have the definitive win over Anderson which he wanted to validate his status as champion, he had comfortably been beating Silva until he sustained the injury. The Rousey-Tate bout was rather more entertaining Tate was able to take Ronda out of the first round for the first time in her career but eventually succumbed to that incredible armbar in the third round.
