Miesha "Cupcake" Tate was never really in danger from Rin Nakai on Saturday. During their three round bout, Nakai did manage to take her back a couple of times, but struggled to sink in submissions. Tate, meanwhile, was able to shrug her off and put forth a very well-rounded effort in securing the decision win. What's next for Tate, however? Post fight, she called for a rematch with Cat Zingano, saying that she felt as if she had unfinished business there, but Cat is fighting Amanda Nunes, and probably Ronda Rousey after that. Tate, now on a two-fight win streak, has already lost to Rousey twice, and a third fight isn't really close yet. Probably the best bet for Tate would be someone like Holy Holm, or an up-and-coming possible title contender. She's just going to have to play gatekeeper for a while - but she shouldn't have to be in that role for too long.
