8. Once Again, No Fight Of The Night Bonus Was Awarded
As with UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Le, there was no Fight of the Night bonus awarded at UFC Fight Night 49. That's an interesting approach. The UFC can do as it sees fit with its performance bonuses, but the Fight of the Night has been a long-standing tradition. Of course, awarding four performances instead of just two means just as many fighters were given bonus money, and it allows more victors to earn extra cash (the Fight of the Night always sees both winner and loser get paid). Whether you like this approach or not, that's two fights in a row that the UFC has gone this route. Picking up $50,000 each last night were Rafael dos Anjos, Jordan Mein, Thales Leites, and Ben Saunders.
