Mangala was one of only two signings Manchester City made in the summer, the other being Fernando, and great things were expected of him. Signed from Porto for an astonishing £31.8m, a huge amount for a defender, the France international was seen as one of Europe's most promising centre-backs. Along with the likes of Raphael Varane and Mamadou Sakho, he was part of an exciting generation of Les Bleus players. The 23-year-old has really struggled to adapt to life in England, however, looking a shaky presence in a City side that always looks like a disaster waiting to happen when Vincent Kompany isn't part of the back-line. He has been erratic in the tackle, dodgy on the ball and has made errors in abundance. Mangala must be a quality player, considering just how highly he is rated by many, and it may be a case of taking time to settle into the Premier League for him. He's been very disappointing though.
