If you're playing in a team that has Cristiano Ronaldo in it then it doesn't matter how good you are, you will never be top dog. In Gareth Bale's case, he is a very good footballer, a world class midfielder and would be the focal point of any other team outside of Spain's top two. Despite being admired throughout the world, he is overshadowed by his Portuguese teammate and for this reason he is still not given the full respect he deserves for his exceptional talent. Bale will continue to be an underrated player until observers start listing him right alongside both Messi and Ronaldo.
