When Peyton Manning's fabled career in Indy came to an end, scores of teams across the league looked at the possibility of signing the record-smashing quarterback. He ended up in Denver with the Broncos, but the three finalists for his signature also included the 49ers and the Titans, while the Cardinals, Redskins and Dolphins were also credited with serious interest. Seahawks' coach Pete Carroll also made a last-ditch effort to sign Manning, flying unannounced to meet him, though Manning declined the meeting.
