Misery. Torment. Disaster. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the last 12 months at Craven Cottage. Having spent their way into the top-flight 13 years ago, and impressively remaining there until last season, the club has gone through eight managers, several smashed transfer records and a heroic Europa League campaign. Needless to say, it has been a topsy-turvy decade for the Cottagers, as the ambitious Londoners sought to hold their against the elite clubs of the top-flight. In audacious bids to coax some of the finest talent to Craven Cottage, former Fulham owner Mohamed Al Fayed waved several blank cheques under their noses. While the likes of Steve Marlet, Louis Saha and Dimitar Berbatov agreed to join the Londoners, there were inevitably a number of players who decided against signing for the relative minnows of west London. One must admire their ambition however, when bids were lodged for Champions League finalists, French internationals and even one of the finest goalscorers to ever kick a football. Take a look at the ten players that Fulham nearly signed.
