This sport is littered with winners and losers. Footballs most coveted prize has eluded the likes of Gianluigi Aguero, Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for years. At the same time, these perennial winners must look on in disgust at some of the sub-standard players who have got their hands on the trophy in recent years, planting their unworthy lips upon the Holy Grail of European football. Through no fault of their own, some of these players simply dont possess any of the class, ilk or aura one might have associated with the Champions League winners. Whether it was simply a case of a squad player having been called on due to a spate of injuries, or rather a then-young gun thrown into the foray of a Cup-winning side, before being found out later on in their career. The high point of my career was winning the Champions League. No one will ever erase that from my memory. Cristiano Ronaldo. For Ronaldo, he has added to that 2008 triumph in Moscow, with a 4-1 victory over their cross-city counterparts Athletico Madrid. For these calibre of players, however, their Champions League final appearances were surely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Their skill level does not befit the arena and standard of a European Cup night, and we still cant quite believe that they triumphed where so many world-class athletes have valiantly failed. So, have a look at some of the painstakingly average footballers who have more Champions League medals in their sock drawer than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We promise that some of these additions serve to shock.
