10 Premier League Players Who Still Have Much To Prove This Season

Make or break time...

By Ryan Elliott /

Though we've witnessed only three rounds of fixtures so far during this Premier League campaign, there's already plenty to talk about. We've had the very uncharacteristic self-destruction of the champions Chelsea, and the incredibly characteristic self-destruction of master clingers-on Sunderland. We've also seen plenty of new talent on show, plenty of high-profile departures and plenty of familiar faces.

With the start of a new Premier League campaign also comes the inevitable batch of players for whom it is make or break. Maybe they just haven't quite had their share of luck, haven't quite found full fitness or just don't look cut out for England's top flight whatsoever. Maybe they just haven't had time to fully develop and showcase their talent. After all, there was a time when a certain Gareth Bale was almost offloaded to Birmingham City for just £3m after a couple of awful seasons as a youngster with Tottenham.

Whatever the excuse may be, the Premier League has players in abundance that really need to show the world what they can do in the 2015/16 campaign. Here's 10 players that have much to prove this season - featuring four Englishmen, Spurs' Gareth Bale replacement and a £140,000 a week London loanee.

10. Radamel Falcao (Chelsea)

Though he managed only four goals at Manchester United last season, there was a time when Radamel Falcao was one of the most feared strikers on the planet. The Colombian was panned for his cameo from the bench against West Brom on Sunday, and is yet to find the back of the net for the blues.

With Diego Costa fairly susceptible to injury, there is no doubt Falcao will get the chance to finally prove himself in the Premier League throughout the coming campaign. Whether he can cut it in England is very much up for debate, though a man with over 200 career goals in just 337 games is likely to find goal scoring form at some point - no matter what league he's in.
