It is one thing to be compared to an all time great from another era, like Tom Brady is to Joe Montana. However, it is entirely different when you are struggling in some quarters to be considered the greatest Quarterback of your own era, as Brady has been with Peyton Manning. Many have debated whether Manning has been the best Quarterback of this era because of his phenomenal regular season record, his one Super Bowl victory and having two further appearances in the big game. However, where the five-time NFL MVPs argument dies is in his other post-season play. Manning has lost in his first play-off game nine times, a record for a Quarterback, and also has the most play-off losses by a Quarterback with 13. Meanwhile, Brady has only lost in the first round twice and holds the record for most play-off wins in a career with 21. There is no doubt that Manning is the greatest regular season Quarterback of all time, to go with the five MVPs he holds the records for most touchdown passes in a game, season and a career (7, 55 and 530) as well as the most yards thrown for in a season, 5,477 yards in 2013, but Brady's overall record is now considered greater than Manning's by most people associated with the game.
