It is fair to say, Gazza will be remembered by a lot of people for his troubled life off the field rather than the stories that that made him a truly great footballer. His relationship with wife Sheryl has been one which has been highlighted a lot by the media. In October 1996, he attacked Sheryl in a drunken rage. Sheryl was pictured with cuts to her face and her arm in a sling after the assault at Gleneagles hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire. She later came out and said it wasnt the first violence she had suffered from Gazza saying he had attacked her during a holiday in Florida when he accused her of fancying his mate Jimmy Five Bellies Gardner. They were divorced in 1998, but most recently in 2013 he was arrested over an alleged drunken attack on ex-wife Sheryl and a security guard at a train station.
