It is fair to say, Gazza will be remembered by a lot of people for his troubled life off the field rather than the stories that that made him a truly great footballer. His relationship with wife Sheryl has been one which has been highlighted a lot by the media. In October 1996, he attacked Sheryl in a drunken rage. Sheryl was pictured with cuts to her face and her arm in a sling after the assault at Gleneagles hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire. She later came out and said it wasn€™t the first violence she had suffered from Gazza saying he had attacked her during a holiday in Florida when he accused her of €œfancying€ his mate Jimmy €œFive Bellies€ Gardner. They were divorced in 1998, but most recently in 2013 he was arrested over an alleged drunken attack on ex-wife Sheryl and a security guard at a train station.
